About KWBC.FM

About our station...

KWBC.FM features TRADITIONAL country music from the 1930's through the present. TRADITIONAL means lots of steel guitar, dobro and fiddles, with hints of bluegrass thrown in. Our call letters "WBC" stands for" World's Best Country" because the best in country music doesn't just come from Nashville anymore: We play the best artists from ALL OVER the World!

We also have a major commitment to the “foundation contributors of country music” such as bluegrass, folk, Americana, roots and Western swing. The station supports, promotes and features promising new artists as well. We keep our station interesting by sponsoring audience contests on a regular basis and by encouraging listener requests.

There are over 11,000 songs in our library and an “everyday” play list of over 3000 songs! We love talking about the music, the performers and writers. If the music is available you'll be able to purchase most of it through links embedded in the player. The station is working hard to bring you the convenience of “one click” MP3 downloads as soon as possible.

KWBC.FM broadcasts on 2 streams (1 WMA and 1 Shoutcast stream) to accommodate listeners with broadband or dial-up internet access and MP3 players as well as smart phones. Our programs are available 24 hours a day and programmed specifically for time zones around the world. We do interviews with artists in Nashville, Branson and our own studios and even enjoy some jam sessions at our studios. In addition we occasionally present remote broadcasts from music festivals and events.

All in all, if you like our genres, we think you'll love KWBC.FM. Thanks for stoppin' by! Ya’all come back now ya hear?

Herm, the Old Buzzard...

Hello: I am The Old Buzzard, KWBC's Program Director. I have been a fan of Traditional Country music since I laid on my brother's bedroom floor while we listened to WSM together in the 50's. I was glad to turn 16 so I could get a car and drive to the radio station to carry coffee for the DJ's. Of course, I got a job when the Sunday announcer moved on and my love for radio has continued 'till this day.

I  host a several live shows each week as well as doing interviews from our studios on the banks of the beautiful Current River, 8 miles from nowhere in the Missouri Ozarks, and from Branson and Nashville. Over the years I have learned a lot about the country and bluegrass music business and hope to share it with my listeners. Of course, we will have on-air discussions where you can call in and share your knowledge and ask your questions. If you share my love of Country music here is a great book to read to learn more about the early "glory days" of WSM and Nashville. I do highly recommend this book.

Hi, I wanted to thank you for playing my music. I hope that
audience likes what they hear. I have a new Valentine's Day
song coming out soon. I also have a new single that I am
working on! Just wanted to let you know as a new artist
and being 16 that you playing my music is helping my dream
come true!
Many thanks,
Sammy
