KWBC.FM is on the air 24/7 and broadcasts around the world. We hit the road to interview artists in Nashville, and at concerts and festivals. Edited interviews are available from the homepage via our audio and video galleries. We also post interviews at the Artist Interview section of the KWBC.FM board on the KWBC.FM Listener’s Forum, also available via the KWBC.FM homepage. They’re great so we hope you check them out!
REQUESTS: Can be made via the homepage, at the “make a song request here” link. Email requests come in at requests@KWBC.FM. Requests that come in between M-F 9pm-8am CST USA will be filled on the next broadcast day. Requests that are received over the weekend will be filled the next weekday.
Current Live Broadcasts Include:
10am-11:30am M-F CST USA – Donna, the barefoot DJ pops in after chores and gives a report on the latest farm activities and Ozark weather along with a roundup of the weekend’s musical activities. She has fun with a mix of traditional country, bluegrass, roots and Americana. Cowboy music kicks in around 10:45am as a lead up to our 11am presentation of Dakota Livesay’s Chronicles of the Old West. Dakota ties in historical tidbits with his research into what really happened in the Old West. From the infamous Wild Bill Hickok and Judge Roy Bean, to the outlaws they pursued, and the cattlemen and settlers who carved out a home in the Western Frontier. It’s exciting, insightful and an interesting way to learn about the life and times of the folks that created the country we broadcast from.
Old artists and new are heard during Barefoot’s show as she handles requests, keeps up with the latest musical news and other happenings around the world. With an audience that spans the width and breadth of our planet, listening to Donna’s show is fun, interesting and always just a bit different then what the average DJ comes up with.
4p-5p M-F CST USA – The Ol’ Buzzard takes over the airwaves with interesting anecdotes, background stories on the artists that we play and his ‘Ol Buzzard blend of humor. Whether it’s reporting on our latest additions to the playlist, the latest additions to the farm, or his favorite new joke, you’ll enjoy spending time listening to Buzz. And don’t forget that he’s happy to handle your afternoon and evening requests. Finding songs from our many sources is one of his specialties. He also loves making contact with new artists so by all means, if you’re music fits with our station send Buzz an email at Buzz@KWBC.FM and let him know who you are and what you’re up to. Who knows, next week he might be talking about and playing your music!
6a – 12noon CST Saturdays USA – KWBC.FM’s Bluegrass Show is a must listen for bluegrass enthusiasts! With one of the largest playlists in Internet Radio we continue to offer what everyone is hoping for: more of the real thing! Bluegrass goes right to the heart with its storytelling, amazing harmonies, and unequalled instrumentation. Add to that an incredible hour from 10a-11a specifically for Midwest U.S. Bluegrass. We highlight bands in our home state of Missouri and those states that surround us giving you get a taste of what we get to hear when we travel to local bluegrass venues. Some have been at it for a while, some are just starting out, and some are still growing into their voices. Regardless, it’s a fun hour that will have your toes tapping and put a smile on your face for the rest of the day!
What’s next – “Dibs n’ Dabs”: Without This You Wouldn’t Have That – This show will take us back to the origins of the music we feature in our regular playlist. With The Ol’ Buzzard or Barefoot handling the reins together we’ll experience the blues before they became country blues, how Celtic tunes came across the sea and made their way into the hills and hollers and came out as folk, bluegrass and Americana. We’ll also learn how the music of Native Peoples takes us for a ride over mountains, out onto the plains and into the heart and soul of everyone who loves music. Tentatively scheduled for Sunday mornings

Listener Supported KWBC.FM features TRADITIONAL country music from the 1930's through the present. TRADITIONAL means lots of steel guitar, dobro and fiddles, with hints of bluegrass thrown in. Anyone can listen for free but we would be honored if you became a contributing supporter of our station. You can do so by clicking here: http://www.kwbc.fm/donate.htm
We also have a major commitment to the “foundation contributors of country music” such as bluegrass, folk, Americana, roots and Western swing. Bluegrass Gospel and Country Gospel dance in amongst other regular offerings and don’t be surprised to hear some Country Blues. Another popular and growing genre is Western and Cowboy Music and Poetry.
Older artists, some passed, delight listeners by being played next to new independent artists playing in the traditional style that has always been popular in the U.S and around the world. Even our regular listeners are surprised with some of the folks that we’ve discovered on our trips to concerts and festivals. All of these genres hold a special place in the hearts of true music lovers and we’re happy to bring this music to you.
There are over 9000 songs in our playlists! We love talking about the music, the performers and the songwriters. If the music is available you'll be able to purchase most of it through links embedded in the player. The station is working hard to bring you the convenience of “one click” MP3 downloads as soon as possible.
KWBC.FM broadcasts on 3 streams (2 WMA and 1 Shoutcast stream) to accommodate listeners with broadband or dial-up, MP3 players as well as smart phones. Our programs are available 24 hours a day and are programmed specifically for time zones around the world. We do interviews with artists in Nashville, at concert and festival venues and in our own studios.
If you have a product, service or website that you would like to promote, KWBC.FM provides underwriting opportunities and reasonable rates measured in total listener hours. Spots are available on the KWBC.FM homepage on a pay-per-click basis. For more information on advertising with us please email Buzz@KWBC.FM or call 573.858.3559 and ask for Herman Beck.
All in all, if you like our genres, our down home temperament and entertaining live broadcasts we think you’ll enjoy listening to KWBC.FM. Thanks for stoppin’ by! Y’all come back now, ya hear?
